What Has Been Your Most Recent Purchase?
Managed to get a copy of the Candeias LP on Disques Esperence for a pretty penny, Don Blackman - Same & Eddie Russ - Take A Look At Yourself. Just wondering what other people have bought recently?

Nice I'll definitely have to check that, I only just came across Pigeon John from the Audacity 7".

Audacity.
Probably the only thing I have bought this year or last.
Maybe something by Frank Zappa too. Probably in fact.

What model and what's up with it? I might have just bought a Fender Rhodes, got to wait for the reply and also an album by Monty Alexander called We've Only Just Begun

Allreet fella!
It's a dinky 500, and the OS is goosed. When I press 'Mode' the count in option for the metronome kicks in, the upshot of which is I can't load kits or samples or owt! Still enjoyed knocking up some little beat loops though!
'Scuse my ignorance, but is the Fender Rhodes a guitar?

Crikey, a guitar? I suppose the Fender bit is quite confusing lol, a Fender Rhodes is an electric piano, imagine "Abigail silk" or "Elevator Music" Einstein samples a Rhodes for that.
Bit of a pain not loading samples! I wasn't too keen on the 500, but unfortunately I find the mpc 2000xl a bit too expensive, let alone even thinking about an SP1200!!

My most recent purchase was The Cure's greatest hits. Hardly hip hop, but I do love a bit of The Cure.

D'oh!!
Cost was the primary reason for it being a 500, much as I'd love to splash the cash on something bigger. Still, it's not like I'm ever likely to do anything with it other than amuse myself and annoy the wife, so a 2000 might have been a tad extravagant!

Re: What Has Been Your Most Recent Purchase?
Haven't got round to buying Audacity yet, been unemployed for 2 months.
Before that I was traveling around Australia so didn't really buy any music (actually I bought my g/f the Juno Soundtrack for the car)
So before that it was probably Move.Meant - The Scope Of Things which is a fantastic album, highly recommend Move.Meant to anyone, as well as Blu And Exile - Above The Heavens, great album.

Probably the best think to do with that film! I wasn't too keen on the film, but the soundtrack seemed quite nice, I especially liked the Astrud Gilberto.

i thought the film wasn't too bad actually, although I watched it expecting it to be terrible, but it was decent.

Re: What Has Been Your Most Recent Purchase?
My most recent purchases have been Beck - Odelay (I've wanted it for years, but every time I go to the record store to buy it, I walk out with something else instead).
My next was "Slurped Too!" - Various artists. If any of you have heard the CD or seen the DVD of DJ Shadow vs. Cut Chemist - Brain Freeze, this is the follow up. The concept is that the records on the turntables are only allowed to be 45's. Slurped Too! is the follow up. Not quite as daring as the original, but it's awesome! It's all soul/funk/motown jives. One thing I love the most about it is that you hear a track and think, "hey! That's where that sample's from!!"
It's my kind o' jive, man.

I almost forgot another important purchase; Fabriclive.39 - DJ Yoda. It's him live at Fabric. DJ Yoda is how I first discovered Yudee.

I went through a stage where I bought most of the main 45's from that. I've still got them but it cost me! Another good purchase for you would be the product placement breaks by Shadow & Chemist, though I was surprised at how many smaller tracks weren't mentioned in the tracklisting, I found a couple by accident.
