I know your thoughts on 'swiss army knives', but I could really do with mobile email etc for work. So my qeustion is:

What's the best Blackberry?

Features wise i love the look of the Storm and all the reviews are good, but every message board I've found says don't touch it with a barge pole. IT at work have said the Bold is the most reliable.

Anyone know anything about anything or owt??

That does look awesome.

I've always had good experiences with Nokia, but it scares me a bit being first in the queue for a new product, expecially when touch screens etc are involved.

The other downside is my existing contract's up 6th Nov, and I need the new one to start straight away.

Reviews I read were really positive though. Tempting...

Get an iPhone, they're rumoured to be out on November 10th, but this is unconfirmed.

If not, the N97 is ok, and most Blackberries except the 9000.

Thing is, the more junk on them, the more there is to go wrong. Do you really need all those daft features? Also, if you get into the habit of backing up your phone on the regular, you'll probably not get any problems, but if you don't, Satan will eat you and the vitally important porn snaps on your 8Gb memory card... Crying or Very sad

This is my first foray into the smartphone world. Now I'm running my own business I will actually use a lot of the additional functions. Just hope it works.

Got a 6303 with a free 80Gb PS3 with my missus last upgrade. The phone's great too (the 'Monkey' theme has a little monkey that catches and munches bananas when it's on charge. Now THAT is a proper phone, lol!)

Lise (my wife) got a Motorola A3100 'Motosurf' a couple of months ago and hates everything about it (it does silly things, like calling other people whilst she's on the phone). So I got a Nokia E71to swap with her. I've just read couple of reviews saying to steer clear of the Motosurf and that the E71 is the phone to have. Damnit.

Motorola make better fridges than mobile phones, and they don't make fridges.

E71 has an annoying tendency to delete everything at random and forget it's network settings, so back it up regularly!

This will be my 4th phone in about 12 years. 3 of those have been Motorola. I started with the Ericsson Brick, which didn't have any of that fancy time display or anything like that. Then I had the Motorola V60, which I absolutely loved and had for 3+ years. Then I had the V3 which did me for another few years, then the V9, which I also really liked but wasn't quite as reliable.

I'm not a fussy phone user and so far I'm relatively happy with the MOTOSurf. I've read some pretty damning things about it though, but then have also read that basically all the problems can be fixed if you have the patience (which I do). The only thing I hate is that it doesn't have voice dialling, which is something I relied on heavily with my V9 (and it did it better than anything else I've used, Information Calls included). That's not even the fault of the phone, but the provider.

My Blackberry does voice dialling, voice texting, voice internet searches and voice emailing. I loves it!

Still say we'd all be better off with a couple of tins and a piece of string!
