I LOVE my barbie! We have a mains power rotisserie for ours and it makes the most amazingly tender & juicy roast lamb!

Here's a hint for you all; if you have a cheap shitty cut of meat (I actually do this with all my meat 'cause I love it) rub it with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle a spicy seasoning on it. I use a Peri Peri seasoning, and I like it hot, so I use it quite liberally. It's also a really healthy way to cook (provided you use the grill, not the hot plate).

Sorry. I love cooking.

My take on this is redundant, Gary's set up sounds amazing! I love cooking and I love BBQs, but I'm a bit limited in my current gaff. There are two of those disposable BBQs sitting in the foyer downstairs, they've been there for ages. Might just claim them and see what I can do on our balcony.

What's everybody's favourite food on the barbie then?

I love to put a wedge of pumpkin (I think some of you strange folk call it squash) on the barbie as soon as you turn it on to warm up, then when you put the meat on, turn the wedge over and cook the other side. You have to leave the skin on, though (it caramelises and goes so crispy and yummy!).

Another fave is grilled fish. Rub a little olive oil (extra virgins, of course) and whatever spices grab your fancy. For us it's curry spices.

But you seriously can't go past a leg of lamb on the rotisserie. Slices of garlic and sprigs of rosemary stuffed into it, cooked on a low heat for an hour & a half.

Hmm... I might even start a recipe thread!

Cheers & beers,
Henry.

Definitely! I prefer proper burgers not the cr*p you buy in the supermarket and steaks on the BBQ.

Bananas. Make a few cuts in the skin, pour in as much dark rum as it will absorb, wrap in foil and grill for about half an hour.

Oh yeah I remember those, I also remember instead of rum I think we used toffee sauce or something like that. Either way completely awesome!

Too right! I've got an awesome recipe for lamb burgers, uses feta cheese to bind them instead of eggs. Unbelievably tasty.

Update: Someone beat to robbing those disposable BBQs downstairs. It would seem there really is no such thing as a free lunch.
